Scion's Cellar Door is open all Easter long weekend, including Good Friday & Easter Monday. Usual opening hours, 10am to 5pm.
We'll have Cheese Boards available for purchase all weekend, so that you can relax with a Scion wine among the grey box gums. And of course there'll be good coffee, hot chocolate for the kids and a selection of local Billson's sodas.
We also encourage you to Reverse BYO - we've got the wine sorted, you BYO the picnic! Rutherglen Provedore at the top of the town's main street has a delicious range of local smoked meats, cheeses and condiments to help you pack a picnic, or perhaps pick up some Parker Pies on your way through to Scion. We have real plates and cutlery on hand at Cellar Door for maximum enjoyment and minimum waste. Please note we are fully licensed (no BYO alcohol).
We'll also have the Jenga, Connect Four and other kids games and colouring out to keep young Easter visitors amused!
Ricky James of James & Co. Wines and Rowly Milhinch of Scion have a score to settle - and you’ll be swinging the gavel! In the small town of Rutherglen, it’s almost a daily occurrence for the two young(ish) winemakers to borrow equipment and bounce ideas off one another, such is their collegial mateship.
